SoulWeaves Showcases GI Kashmir Pashmina Excellence at Pravaah Fashion Show

India, October 09, 2024: In a stunning celebration of India’s rich textile heritage, SoulWeaves made a remarkable presence at Pravaah, the prestigious fashion show organised by NIFT and sponsored by the Ministry of Textiles on September 13, 2024. The event served as a perfect platform for the brand to showcase its extraordinary collection, “Kaantha Stories,” which masterfully combined GI-certified Kashmiri pashminas with exquisite Kaantha embroidery.

The collection captivated audiences with its seamless fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design aesthetics. Each piece in the Kaantha Stories collection reflected India’s rich handloom traditions, featuring meticulously crafted pashmina stoles and shawls that exemplified both elegance and timelessness. The blend of soft, authentic pashmina with intricate Kaantha stitching created pieces that resonated with both fashion enthusiasts and industry professionals.

The success at Pravaah further cements SoulWeaves’ position as a leading force in sustainable and ethical fashion, showcasing their commitment to preserving India’s textile heritage while embracing modern design sensibilities.

Behind this remarkable brand stands Swati Kapoor, an alumna of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad. With a degree in Garment Manufacturing Technology and extensive experience in fabric production and export management, the designer transformed her expertise into a vision that celebrates India’s textile legacy. Her journey from a garment producer to the founder of SoulWeaves represents a perfect blend of technical knowledge and artistic innovation.

Established in 2016, SoulWeaves has emerged as a brand that goes beyond mere fashion creation. Its mission encompasses the preservation of traditional craftsmanship while innovating for contemporary appeal. The brand’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its use of natural fibres and traditional practices, including hand weaving, handblock printing, and hand embroidery.

What sets SoulWeaves apart is their holistic approach to fashion. The brand’s extensive research and collaborations with artisans across India – from Ladakh to Karnataka and Rajasthan to Bengal – have resulted in a unique portfolio of products that includes sarees, shawls, scarves, and stoles.

SoulWeaves’ vision extends beyond creating beautiful garments; it encompasses the preservation of India’s rich textile heritage for future generations while supporting local artisan communities. Through its sustainable luxury approach, the brand is not just crafting products but nurturing an ecosystem where tradition meets innovation, and craftsmanship thrives in harmony with contemporary fashion needs.
