The symposium will commence with an inaugural Session featuring a Keynote Address by Prof. Ashok Kumar Chawla, Advisor (Japan) to the Ministry of External Affairs, who will speak on the significance of India-Japan collaboration in the global context of innovation and sustainability followed by Ms Maho HAKAMATA, Third Secretary, PR & Culture, Embassy of Japan in India. The event is expected to be graced by H.E Ambassador of Japan to India.

The first day will start with a poster exhibition showcasing the synergies between the two nations. The event will include various activities such as poster competitions, Indo-Japan Fashion shows, food fusion, and cultural events. Participants will engage in Rangoli designing and painting competitions, celebrating the fusion of Indian and Japanese traditions. The day will conclude with an inaugural session and a cultural event, providing a platform for artistic expression and dialogue. The day’s cultural performances will feature Indian classical and folk music, a special performance by the Justajoo Band, and artistic expressions reflecting India’s rich musical heritage and cultural connections with Japan.

The second day will feature panel discussions with distinguished speakers from India and Japan in hybrid mode, focusing on substantive discussions on educational and technological cooperation, cultural exchange, and shared visions for the future. Three-panel discussions will explore these topics in-depth, culminating in a valedictory session that will reflect on the insights gained and the path forward.

The event will provide a powerful platform for cultural exchange and in-depth discussions on critical issues, underlining the commitment of both nations to pioneering a sustainable and innovative future together. The “India-Japan Partnership Towards Innovation and Sustainability: A Roadmap for Viksit Bharat” event will unite diverse participants, spark meaningful dialogues, and set the stage for continued collaboration between the Department of Economics, SBSS, MRIIRS, and the Embassy of Japan.
