Indian company is granted technology patent that will disrupt data protection and compliance

Synersoft Technologies Private Limited, an Indian company has developed the technology for which  it is granted patent in India. The patented system, officially titled “A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR  FORCED DATA CENTRALIZATION TO PROTECT DATA INTEGRITY,” is set to democratize high-level  data protection, which until now has largely been unaffordable for smaller businesses. Mr. Vishal  Prakash Shah, Founder and CEO of Synersoft Technologies, emphasized that the commercialization of this technology is expected to reduce the cost of implementing data  protection policies by up to 90%.

Problem Statement

Enterprises today struggle with the scattered nature of data across various devices such as  laptops, desktops, and servers. This scattered data poses significant risks, increasing the likelihood  of data loss, leakage, or theft. Centralizing such fragmented data is an enormous challenge for  businesses of all sizes, but particularly for MSMEs, which often lack the resources to invest in  comprehensive solutions.

Traditional Solutions

Conventionally, businesses have relied on central storage infrastructures like NAS (Network  Attached Storage), file servers, terminal servers, or Virtual Desktop Interfaces to centralize data. It  is expected of the users to voluntarily store the data files like designs, drawings, documents,  spreadsheets, presentations, pdf, emails etc. on central storage infrastructure. In case of NAS and  File Server, the effectiveness of such a solution is proportionate to how diligently the users follow  the instructions. If the users are ignorant or negligent about following the instructions, the data of  the enterprise remains scattered and the problem is not resolved.

In case of Terminal Server, it requires huge investment in software, hardware, and bandwidth. Also,  certain technical design software do not permit the use of terminal servers.

However, the effectiveness of these solutions is often contingent on user diligence. In instances  where employees fail to follow instructions diligently, enterprise data remains vulnerable, and the  problem persists.

Overview of the Technology for which the Patent is Granted

The technology patent is granted over BLACKbox hardware (can be deployed on-premise or on cloud). It is known as A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FORCED DATA CENTRALIZATION TO  PROTECT DATA INTEGRITY. This technology works on agent based authentication with the storage  hardware developed by Synersoft. By applying this technology in real-life environments, it ensures  that the choice of storage destination id not left with the users and they are forced to save the data on the central location only, over the network, or over the VPN. By not leaving any choice with the  user on where to store the data, it ensures a zero trust environment and does not depend on user’s  diligence to follow the instructions. It ensures the centralization of data, hence minimum  scatteredness of the data.

Industrial Benefit of Patented Technology

This patented technology represents a significant leap forward for MSMEs, making robust IT policy  enforcement both accessible and affordable. By centralizing data without dependence on user  behavior, the system simplifies compliance with stringent data protection standards, often  mandated by large enterprises, government bodies, and international clients.

This technology will simplify the IT Policy enforcement process for data centralization at fraction of  the cost. It will democratize the IT Policy adherence for micro, small, and medium sized  enterprises, which otherwise was not affordable to them. It will also help them comply with the  vendor empanelment criteria imposed by their large or government or overseas customers who  mandate highest level of data protection practices on their approved suppliers. It will make these  MSMEs globally competitive and make them have better business continuity plan against data loss  possibilities. By the use of this technology, enterprises will be confident of data centralization and  will not have to bear the overhead backup of each and every desktop or laptop asset.

Synersoft’s patented technology is expected to have a profound impact on industries such as  Engineering, Aerospace, Defense, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Finance, and Manufacturing,  where data security and compliance are paramount.
