Joon is a love story, where its more about coming into one’s own rather than simply looking for the right partner. Joon runs into Sid, just days before her wedding. There is a rare connection that builds up but she is in denial. She continues with her wedding plans but she finds soon that her choice was a mistake. The film explores to find- how do you know who is the one for you?

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:
Barnali Ray Shukla is a writer, filmmaker and a poet. She made her directorial debut with ‘Kucch Luv Jaisaa’, with Fox Star Studios. It is streaming on Amazon International, is also available to watch in India on GoogleTV. She was an assistant director on ‘Satya’ with Ram Gopal Varma, has worked on script selections with Sudhir Mishra and has been in writers’ room with Ekta Kapoor.
She was on the Selection Committee for Mumbai Academy of Moving Images for three years in a row and that honed her view of the world and opened a gaze, beyond Bollywood.
Her new Hindi feature film, JOON, has bagged 15 awards so far across Bolivia, Brazil, Norway, Sweden, Japan, USA, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Croatia, India and France.
Barnali is thrilled to share that now THE STORY INK will represent her writing. This milestone helps her outreach as a writer-director. Meanwhile she is in the early stages casting for her next Hindi Feature Film.
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: JOON
One summer in the mountains during his first biking trip with his friends, the cool and casual Sid sees a new side to him when he meets Joon, days before her wedding. Joon tries to ignore this guy from the city who is winning her heart without giving her a choice. She gets on with her life as planned, by marrying Jay, the man she was certain about. Sid and his friends return to the city but things won’t be the same again. Sid and Joon don’t keep in touch but then her new life crosses Sid, when she is least expecting it …
