Minister of State (MoS) for Heavy Industries & Steel Graces the 11th Edition of The Supply Chain and Logistics Summit

28th June 2024, New Delhi: Honourable Minister Bhupathiraju Srinivas Varma, Minister of State for Heavy Industries & Steel, GOI, graced the biggest Supply Chain Management and Logistics Summit in Delhi on 28th June 2024 presented by ET Edge in collaboration with Mahindra Logistics,  strategic partner Oracle and co-presented by DTDC Express.

At the summit, Mr. Varma emphasized on plans for the logistics industry and the need to focus largely on optimizing the Supply Chain for a Sustainable and Competitive Indian Steel Industry. He shared insights on the importance of having a strong focus on reducing carbon footprints in this sector.

The summit brought industry leaders, policymakers, and experts together to share, explore, and exchange insights to chart a better course toward a more efficient, sustainable, and resilient supply chain ecosystem. 

Gracing the event with his presence, Honourable Minister Bhupathiraju Srinivas Varma, Minister of State for Heavy Industries & Steel, GOI said, “India boasts one of the world’s largest reserves of natural resources. With the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, we aim to tackle challenges and chart a course towards advancing the supply chain and logistics sector. An efficient supply chain is crucial for optimizing operations. Utilizing technology to enhance the supply chain has the potential to revolutionize processes. Sustainability is now an imperative rather than a choice. The government is dedicated to extending its support, including through various programs aimed at promoting and ensuring resilient and sustainable green supply chains. Initiatives like Sagar Mala have enhanced port efficiency and reduced logistics costs. Fostering a culture of innovation is essential for driving supply chain development.”

The event showcased knowledgeable masterclasses across various fields including Risk Management, Blockchain Technology in Supply Chain, Supply Chain Digitization, Sustainable Practices, and Supply Chain Finance by industry subject matter experts. 

Apart from sessions around supply chain, the summit also focused on some other ever growing industries like Manufacturing & Heavy Engineering, FMCG, Retail and E-Comm, and Cold Chain and Warehousing. 

Supply Chain Management and Logistics Summit is a significant platform that brings the leaders across the country together, acknowledging the contributions made and to bring the ideas for innovations in the space.
