Reetwika Banerjee: A Trailblazer in Cyber Security and Creative Excellence

Reetwika Banerjee is a multifaceted talent whose accomplishments span various fields, including literature, cybersecurity, and filmmaking. Born in Kolkata, India, she has established herself as an award-winning author, short filmmaker, and cybersecurity expert. With a passion for storytelling and a commitment to empowering women in technology, Reetwika’s journey is both inspiring and impactful.

Reetwika has penned multiple notable books, each showcasing her unique storytelling ability and diverse writing styles. A decade ago her debut book, Fantastic 40, was a collection of 40 micro-stories that explore various themes, from love to life’s absurdities. This book has resonated with readers, earning her significant acclaim. Following this, she wrote Zenova, an assortment of 45 short stories that delve into the complexities of human emotions and relationships. She coined the term ‘zenova’ adding a newage word to the modern English dictionary.

Another noteworthy title from Reetwika’s writing desk is Cyber Security at Your Fingertips. It is a non-fiction book that provides practical, jargon-free, easy to follow cybersecurity tips for everyday users. The book aims to educate readers on various cybercrimes and offer simple, actionable advisory to protect themselves from cyber criminals. “You need not be a tech-geek to protect yourself from hackers.” Reetwika said to us.

Reetwika’s most critically acclaimed book, The Secret Murder Witness of Siraj-ud-Daulah, is a historical thriller that revolves around a pivotal moment in Indian history—the 1757 Battle of Plassey, where Bengal Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah faced betrayal and defeat against the British army. The narrative intricately weaves fact and fiction, exploring the covert events that unfolded during this tumultuous period.

In addition to her literary achievements, Reetwika is a professional cybersecurity expert. Currently, she serves as a Corporate Cybersecurity Strategist for a North American consulting giant, where she advises senior management on precautions against advanced data breaches and cyber threats. 

Beyond her professional pursuits, Reetwika is actively involved in charitable works as the honorary President of Public Safety & Security Council, Bengal; committed to relentless social activism in building cyber awareness among the public, especially women and children. Reetwika’s prowess has not gone unnoticed. She has won multiple international and national awards including a nomination for “Padma Shri” in 2020.
