CMF by Nothing announces CMF Phone 1 launch date plus Buds Pro 2 and Watch Pro 2

London-based technology brand Nothing’s sub-brand, CMF, is set to unveil its maiden smartphone, Phone 1, next month. Earlier, Nothing announced on X (formerly Twitter) that it will host its Community Update event on July 8 at 10 AM BST (2:30 PM IST). The event will coincide with other introductions along with the smartphone, including the second-generation CMF Buds Pro and Watch Pro.

According to speculations, CMF’s Phone 1 is likely to be priced cheaper than Nothing’s Phone 2a, launched earlier this year. The design theme of the smartphone might be a bit altered and is expected to be powered by a slightly lower-end processor compared to the Nothing Phone 2a.

CMF Phone 1: Price expectations

According to speculations, CMF’s Phone 1 is likely to be priced cheaper than Nothing’s Phone 2a, launched earlier this year. The design theme of the smartphone might be a bit altered and is expected to be powered by a slightly lower-end processor compared to the Nothing Phone 2a.

CMF Phone 1: What to expect in terms of design?

In the initial image released by the company, the device is poised to don a peppy orange colour theme, akin to other products by Nothing like CMF buds, a GAN charger, among others. It may also feature a vegan leather panel that fits within the plastic frame. Also, a circular dial can be seen in the image, which looks like the fidget dial previously used with the CMF buds.

CMF Phone 1 Here’s what we know about specifications

Other potential specifications that CMF Phone 1 may offer include a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a seamless refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

The smartphone is set to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, supported by up to 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage.

The device’s camera prowess might also be decent, featuring a dual camera setup with a 50MP primary shooter. The selfie camera is going to be a 16MP sensor.

On the software front, it may run on Nothing’s OS custom skin, which would be based on Android 14 out of the box.
