Drawing on shared value system, PLC Canada and MAEER’s MIT Arts, Commerce & Science College in Alandi, Pune signed a partnership agreement on July 1st 2024 to address issues of growing industry skill gap and shared learning.
The College is also expanding the types of partnerships it pursues. said PLC’s President Tarun Khullar, from Vancouver Canada: “We are embracing the view that universities are ‘global catalyst,’ and must work collaboratively with partners from a range of sectors and geographies to contribute to global relevance, and to create global citizens and leaders”. “Working with MIT will help us realize these goals and be of service to the world” added Mr Roshan, Director South Asia, PLC.
PLC recently has entered into a similar tie up with University of Dagupan, Philippines for special educational collaboration.
MIT college principal Dr BB Waphare said that the college looks for such collaborations so that MIT students would get international exposure to address the current need for skill based learning.
“The idea of PLC Officials visiting MIT India is to look at wide-ranging partnerships that transcend not just student mobility, but also to develop joint conferences, curriculum sharing, dual certifications and research projects,” Dr Manasi Atitkar added.
This partnership was catalysed by CEO of study in overeases, Mr Paresh Patil who on the occasion hinted that PLC is also planning to design a three-week international immersion tour programme for MIT’s current students.
